DataXu, a Boston-based provider of digital marketing software for the enterprise, has raised $27 million in new VC funding. Thomvest Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Atlas Venture, Flybridge Capital Partners and Menlo Ventures. The company previously raised over $17 million.

Oak Investment Partners has invested $40 million to help launch xG Health Solutions, an independently-operated venture that will make the intellectual property and expertise of Geisinger Health System available to other healthcare systems.

FreedomPop, a Los Angeles–based freemium wireless service provider, has raised $4.3 million in new VC funding from return backers DCM and Mangrove Capital Partners.

EvntLive, a new on-demand concert viewing platform for the web and mobile, has raised $2.3 million in seed funding, according to TechCrunch. Backers include Vint Cerf, Yogen Dalal, Walter Kortschak, Dave House and Ellen Levy.

Mu Sigma, a Chicago–based provider of big data analytics and decision-support services to large companies, has raised an undisclosed amount of strategic funding from MasterCard. The company previously raised more than $130 million from General Atlantic and Sequoia Capital.
