The Blackstone Group has agreed to acquire Vivint, a Provo, Utah-based provider of provider of home technology services, at an enterprise value of just over $2 billion. Vivint had been 50% owned by Goldman Sachs, Jupiter Partners and Peterson Partners – all three of which are selling their stakes to Blackstone. Company management also will sell a portion of its holdings, thus giving Blackstone a majority stake.

Black Diamond Capital Management has helped sponsor an acquisition of the assets of White Birch Paper Co., a manufacturer of newsprint, directory paper and paperboard. No financial terms were disclosed.

GMT Communications Partners has sponsored a management buyout of Seagull AG, a provider of computer-based training systems and e-learning for seafarers. No financial terms were

KRG Capital Partners has sponsored a recapitalization of Convergint Technologies, a Schaumburg, Ill.-based commercial security and life safety systems integrator. No financial terms were disclosed. Sellers include Cyprium Investment Partners.

LBO France has acquired DIAM International, a Paris-based maker of luxury and retail point-of-purchase displays, from H.I.G. Capital. No financial terms were disclosed.
