CITIC Private Equity has offered to acquire 3SBio Inc. (NASDAQ: SSRX), a Chinese biotech company, for $15 per American depository share (29.3% premium to yesterday’s closing price). The investor consortium also includes 3SBio chairman and CEO Jing Lou, while the entire transaction would value the company at approximately $331 million.

Bain CapitalPiramal Group and Temasek Holdings are among the bidders for TPG Capital’s 20% stake in Indian commercial vehicle financier Shriram Transport Finance Corp., according to the Economic Times.

Flare Industries LLC, an Austin, Texas-based portfolio company of Turnbridge Capital, has acquiredJordan Technologies, a Louisville, Ky.-based maker and services of vapor recovery units. No financial terms were disclosed.

H.I.G. Capital has closed its previously-announced acquisition of the specialty alumina business of Rio Tinto Group (LSE: RIO) for an undisclosed amount. The business will be renamed ALTEO, and reports nearly €300 million in annual revenue.

IK Investment Partners has agreed to acquire French specialty chemicals company Groupe Unipex fromAXA Private Equity for an undisclosed amount.

Macadamia Natural Oil, a Chatsworth, Calif.-based professional hair care brand, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Star Avenue Capital, a consumer growth equity vehicle formed by Irving Place Capital and Creative Artists Agency. Roth Capital Partners advised MNO on the deal, while BoA Merrill Lynch provided working capital financing.

Roark Capital Group has acquired The Home Service Store, a Kennesaw, Ga.-based coordinator of lead generation, sales and installation of do-it-for-me home improvement projects for home improvement and general merchandise “big box” retailers. No financial terms were disclosed.

Thoma Bravo has agreed to acquire Mediware Information Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDW), a Lenexa, Kansas–based provider of clinical software solutions, for $195 million, or $22 per share (40% premium over yesterday’s closing price). William Blair & Co. advised Mediware on the deal.

Wynnchurch Capital has acquired Northstar Aerospace Inc., a Bedford Park, Ill.-based manufacturer of flight-critical and non-flight-critical parts for military and commercial aircraft applications. No pricing terms were disclosed for the deal, which was transacted via court administered insolvency proceedings in both the United States and Canada. PNC provided senior debt financing. Northstar Aerospace previously was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Versa Capital Management has formed Civitas Media LLC, a community news media platform that will hold four existing portfolio companies: Freedom Central, Heartland Publications, Impressions Media and Ohio Community Media.
