National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE:NOV) has agreed to acquire oilfield equipment maker Robbins & Myers Inc. (NYSE:RBN) for approximately $2.5 billion in cash, or $60 per RBN share. www.nov.com

Goldman Sachs has agreed to sell Japanese general contractor Fujita Corp. to Daiwa House Industry (Tokyo: 1925) for approximately $636 million. www.fujita.co.jp

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) made an informal approach about buying the enterprise unit of Research in Motion (TSX: RIM), according to Bloomberg. No talks are currently underway. www.ibm.com

Urenco, a UK state-controlled nuclear group, is expected to receive a takeover offer worth approximately $8.6 billion from a group led by ex-Urenco CEO Patrick Upson, according to the FT. www.urenco.com
