Abax Global Capital has agreed to acquire Chinese wire-maker Fushi Copperweld Inc. (Nasdaq: FSIN) for approximately $364 million, or $9.50 per share (21% premium to yesterday’s close). Fushi co-CEO Li Fu is participating in the deal alongside Abax.

FinalSite, an East Hartford, Conn.-based online learning and communications platform for the education industry, has raised an undisclosed amount of private equity funding from Spectrum Equity

Melrose, a British buyout firm, has agreed to acquire Elster Group (NYSE: ELT), a German maker of utility meters, for $2.3 billion.

Nic + Zoe, a-based women’s apparel brand, has secured a minority equity investment from Raptor Consumer Partners. No financial terms were disclosed.

Pagatech Ltd., a provider of mobile money transfer solutions in Nigeria, has raised an undisclosed amount of private equity from Adlevo Capital, Omidyar Network, Acument Fund, Capricorn Investment Group and return backer Goowell West Africa Microfinance Development Co.

Skrill, a British online payment company owned by Investcorp Technology Partners, has agreed to Wertkarten AG, an Austrian provider of prepaid vouchers that enable consumers to shop online. The deal is valued at upwards of €140 million.
