FORTUNE — It turns out that getting Tim Cook to sit in All Things Digital’s red “hot seat” is not necessarily the best way to find out what he is up to. You’ll learn more about Cook’s Apple (AAPL) from Adam Lashinsky’s Fortune cover story that you would from Tuesday night’s nearly two-hour Q&A with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher.
On the hot topic of new products, Cook firmly and repeatedly refused to be drawn in, saying only that “The juices are flowing [at Apple], and we have some incredible things coming out.”
He did acknowledge that Siri needs work. “There is more that it can do,” he said. “I think you’ll be really pleased with some things you will see over the coming months.”
And he repeated earlier comments about Apple TV (the set-top box, not the much-rumored TV set). It’s an “area of intense interest for us,” he said. “We are going to keep pulling this string and see where it takes us.”
