Quest Software Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) said that it received several offers during its “go-shop” period, following a March agreement to be acquired for approximately $2 billion by Insight Venture Partners. The Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based company did not identify the new suitors, but did say that some of the rival bids are “reasonably expected to lead to a superior proposal” to the $23 per share deal from Insight. www.quest.com
Fort Point Capital has sponsored a recapitalization of Church Services, a Texas-based provider of residential HVAC, electrical, plumbing, foundation repair and pest control services. No financial terms were disclosed, except that Babson Capital Management provided a $1.5 million equity co-invest and $6 million in mezzanine debt. www.fortpointcapital.com
Silver Lake Sumeru and Essex Woodlands have agreed to acquire Medseek, a Birmingham, Ala.–based provider of online patient engagement and analytics solutions. Sellers include Council Capital and Eastside Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. www.medseek.com
