Violin Memory, a Mountain View, Calif.-based flash storage company, has raised $50 million in new VC funding at a valuation north of $800 million. SAP Ventures and Highland Capital Partners were joined by return investors like Toshiba and Juniper Networks. Read more

2tor Inc., a Landover, Mich.-based provider of online degree programs, has raised $26 million in Series D funding. The Hillman Co. led the round, and was joined by SVB Capital, WestRiver Capital and return backers Bessemer Venture Partners, Highland Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Novak Biddle Venture Partners and City Light Capital. The company has now raised $96 million in total VC funding.www.2tor.com

AlloCure Inc., a Burlington, Mass.-based developer of kidney disease treatments, has raised $25 million in Series B funding. Lundbeckfond Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers SV Life Sciences and Novo AS. www.allocure.com

Good Start Genetics Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of carrier screening solutions, has raised $14 million in Series B funding. Return backers include OrbiMed Advisors, Safeguard Scientifics and SV Life Sciences. www.goodstartgenetics.com
