Appirio, a San Mateo,Calif.-based provider of cloud solutions for businesses, has raised $60 million in Series D funding. General Atlantic led the round, and was joined by return backers Sequoia Capital and GGV Capital. www.appirio.com

Boku, a San Francisco-based provider of online mobile payment solutions, has raised $35 million in Series D funding. New Enterprise Associates and Telefonica Digital were joined by return backers Andreessen Horowitz, Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Index Ventures and Khosla Ventures. BrightEdge, a San Mateo, Calif.-based search and social management platform for global enterprises, has raised $12.6 million in Series C funding. Intel Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Battery Ventures, Altos Ventures and Illuminate Ventures. www.brightedge.com

Kala Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based developer of treatments for diseases that affect mucosal tissues, has raised $6.2 million in new VC funding. Backers include Lux Capital, Polaris Venture Partners, Third Rock Ventures, and Lighthouse Capital Partners. www.kalarx.com
