If, like me, you couldn’t make it to San Francisco, you can still get the blow-by-blow
Assuming you’re not in actually in the Yerba Buena Center auditorium today, the best way to find out what’s going on inside Apple’s (AAPL) iPad press event is to watch the live webcast — assuming there is one. The company occasionally provides a video feed from these special events, but it never announces the fact until the last minute. Check apple.com shortly before Tim Cook’s 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST) opening remarks.
Otherwise, if you’re a hedge fund or a day trader or just an enthusiast who needs to know the iPad news as it happens, your best bet is to follow the journalists banging out live blogs. What you want is a fast, accurate typist who knows the ropes. Auto-refresh is a plus; auto-refresh you can turn off is even better. Some sites you might consider:

If you miss the live coverage, don’t despair. If the past is any guide, Apple will post a streaming video of the entire event after the fact, probably before the end of the day. You won’t miss a thing — except, of course, a chance to see and touch the new device. For that you had to be there.
