Luxtera, a Carlsbad, Calif.–based silicon photonics company, has raised $21.7 million in Series C funding. Tokyo Electron was joined by return backers New Enterprise Associates, August Capital, Sevin Rosen Funds and Lux Capital. www.luxtera.com

Meteor Entertainment, a Seattle-based publisher of free-to-play games like Hawken, has raised $10 million in VC funding from firms like  Benchmark Capital and FirstMark Capital. www.meteor-ent.com

Vaultive
, a New York-based provider of cloud data encryption solutions, has raised $10 million in VC funding. Backers include .406 Ventures, New Science Ventures and Harmony Partners.www.vaultive.com

Poppin, a New York-based office products startup, has raised $6 million in Series A funding. Shasta Ventures led the round, and was joined by First Round Capital and individual angels. www.poppin.com

Duo Security, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based provider of mobile phone security solutions, has raised $5 million in Series A funding. Google Ventures led the round, and was joined by seed backers True Ventures and Resonant. www.duosecurity.com

XCOR Aerospace, a Mojave, Calif.-based developer of reusable rocket powered vehicles and propulsion systems, has raised $5 million in new equity funding from backers who include Esther Dyson and Pete Ricketts. www.xcor.com

Karma, a mobile gifting startup from TapJoy co-founders Lee Linden and Ben Lewis, has raised around $4.5 million in VC funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sequoia Capital, Obvious Corp., Felicis Ventures and Stephen Gillett. www.getkarma.com

SoCore Energy, a Chicago-based solar energy developer for retailers, municipalities and commercial property owners, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Lightbank LLC.www.socoreenergy.com

Windeln.de, a German e-commerce site for baby products, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series B funding from return backers Acton Capital Partners, DN Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds.www.windeln.de
