Game Closure, a provider of an HTML5-based multiplayer game development kit, has raised $12 million in Series A funding. Highland Capital Partners led the round, and was joined by Greylock, Benchmark Capital, General Catalyst Partners and Charles River Ventures. www.gameclosure.com

Milyoni, a Pleasanton, Calif.-based provider of social entertainment experiences for Facebook users, has raised $11 million in Series B funding. Oak Investment Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers ATA Ventures and Thomvest Ventures. www.milyoni.com

Luminate (f.k.a. Pixazza), a Mountain View, Calif.-based photo tagging startup, has raised $10.7 million in Series C funding. Nokia Growth Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers August Capital, CMEA Capital, Google Ventures and Shasta Ventures. www.luminate.com

Truveris, a New York-based company focused on simplifying the prescription drug claims payment process, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. New Leaf Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Tribeca Venture Partners, New Atlantic Ventures and First Round Capital.

Pinger, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of free mobile communications solutions, has raised $7.5 million in funding from T-Mobile Venture. Prior backers include Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and DAG Ventures. www.pinger.com

Votizen, a digital platform that lets voters create individual profiles for the purpose of collective action and direct communication, has raised $750,000 in seed funding. Backers include Founders Fund, Sean Parker, A-Grade Investments, Troy Carter (Lady Gaga’s business manager) and Hercules Technology Growth Capital. Read more.
