* Former Research in Motion (RIMM) co-CEO Mike Lazaridis on the challenging decision to step down from his role with the company after 27 years. Though Lazaridis is still on the company board and will chair the board’s new innovation committee, he won’t be involved in day-to-day operations. “Stepping aside, as a founder, after 27 years, I would be lying if I said that wasn’t emotional for me, and for my whole family.” he said. * Not everyone in Silicon Valley is benefiting from the tech boom. Some older tech professionals are finding it hard to get work as many rising startups simply focus on younger applicants or applicants with skill sets that better align with their needs. (The New York Times)
