Balihoo, a Boise, Idah-based provider of local marketing automation solutions to national brands, has raised $5 million in new VC funding. OpenView Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by fellow return backer Highway12 Ventures. www.balihoo.com

Thrombolytic Science International LLC, a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of drugs to treat strokes and heart attacks, has raised $7.5 million from a European family trust, according to VentureWire. www.tsillc.net

Affine, a San Francisco-based provider of contextual online video targeting solutions, has raised $5 million in new VC funding from return backers Crosslink Capital and Highland Capital Partners. www.affine.tv

AppTap, a Reston, Va.-based app recommendations service for consumers, has raised $4 million in second-round funding. Syncom Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backer New Atlantic Ventures. www.apptap.com

Semprius Inc., a Durham, N.C.-based developer of high-concentration photovoltaic solar modules, has raised $3 million in new VC funding. Morgan Creek Capital Management was joined by return backers IllinoisVentures and In-Q-Tel. www.semprius.com

Kapost, a Boulder, Colo.-based provider of content publishing services, has raised $1.5 million in Series B funding. Circle P Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Highway 12 Ventures and High Country Ventures. www.kapost.com

CrystalGenomics Inc., a South Korean structural chemoproteiomics-based drug discovery and development company, has raised KRW 3 billion ($2.6m) in strategic funding from the Korea Seoul Life Science Fund (partnership between Hanwha Venture Capital Corp. and Oxford Bioscience Partners). www.crystalgenomics.com

GetGlue, a social check-in company for television programs and other entertainment, has raised $12 million in new VC funding. Rho Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Time Warner Investments, RRE Ventures and Union Square Ventures.
