December 8, 2011, 8:03 PM UTC, a New York-based flash sales site, has raised $40 million in Series B funding. Andreessen Horowitz led the round, and was joined by return backers Menlo Ventures, First Round Capital, Baroda Ventures, SoftTech VC and A-Grade Investments. The deal was done at a $200 million valuation, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Plum District, a San Francisco-based online daily deal site for mothers, has raised $20 million in Series C funding. General Catalyst Partners led the round, and was joined by fellow return backer Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and new investors Comcast Ventures and Duke University. Plum District also announced that it has acquired daily deal sites Chatterfly Inc. and DoodleDeals

Martini Media, a San Francisco-based digital media platform for engaging “affluencers,” has raised $13 million in new VC funding. Granite Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Reed Elsevier Ventures, Silicon Valley Bank and Venrock.

Cross Pixel Media Inc., a New York-based provider of audience data for the online advertising industry, has raised around $1.5 million in Series A funding led by ad agency Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, according to VentureWire.
