CVC Capital Partners is in talks with Providence Equity Partners for a deal that would merge CVC portfolio company Sunrise with Orange Switzerland, were Providence to beat out other firms in the Orange Switzerland auction. Reuters was first to report the news. Others bidding against Providence for Orange Switzerland – being sold by France Telecom for around $2 billion — include Apax Partners, EQT Partners, Doughty Hanson, Liberty Global and Egypt’s Naguib Sawiris.
