Crescendo Bioscience, a South San Francisco-based developer of quantitative biomarker tests for rheumatoid arthritis, has raised $31 million in Series C funding. Aeris Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers like Mohr Davidow Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The company also secured a $25 million in non-dilutive debt capital from Myriad Genetics, which is structured as a three-year option for Myriad to acquire Crescendo Bioscience for a predetermined multiple of revenue.www.crescendobio.com

IP Commerce, a Denver-based platform-as-a-service that acts as an OS for commerce, has raised $20.7 million in growth capital funding. Intel Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Meritage Funds, Venrock, TTV Capital, Fifth Third Processing Solutions and Iron Gate Capital.www.ipcommerce.com

RingCentral, a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of cloud business phone systems and services, has raised $10 million in Series D funding. Scale Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Sequoia Capital, Khosla Ventures, Cisco, DAG Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank. HookLogic, a New York-based SaaS platform that integrates paid media programs with e-commerce retailers, has raised $9.5 million in VC funding from Bain Capital Ventures. It is the six-year-old company’s first round of institutional financing. www.hooklogic.com

Backupify, a cloud-based data backup service, has raised $5 million in Series B funding. Avalon Ventures led the round, and was joined by General Catalyst Partners and Lowercase Capital.www.backupify.com

Lending Club, a Redwood City, Calif.-based P2P platform for personal loans, said that Thomvest has acquired an equity stake. The deal is part of a larger transaction in which Thomvest founder Peter J. Thompson will become a cornerstone investor in a new fund that will invest in the two highest grades of 36-month consumer loans originated through the Lending Club platform. Lending Club previously raised over $77 million from Union Square Ventures, Canaan Partners, Foundation Capital, Morgenthaler Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners. www.lendingclub.com

Aquion Energy Inc., a Pittsburgh-based developer of water-based sodium ion batteries, has secured $30 million in Series B funding. Foundation Capital led the round, and was joined by Advanced Technology Ventures, TriplePoint Capital and return backer Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Qosmos, a Paris-based provider of network intelligence technology, has raised €19.8 million in new equity and debt financing. Backers include DFJ Esprit, Fonds Stratégique d’Investissements and Alven Capital. Part of the deal’s equity was a secondary purchase of shares previously held by Sofinnova.www.qosmos.com

AlertEnterprise Inc., a Fremont, Calif.-based security convergence company, has raised $19 million in new VC funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, and was joined by return backers Opus Capital and Startup Farms Investors. www.alertenterprise.com

Finestrella, a provider of mobile telephony services to low-income and unbanked populations in Mexico, has raised $13.75 million in Series B funding. Omidyar Network and IGNIA co-led the round, and were joined by return backers Bay Partners and Storm Ventures. www.finstrella.com

Trunk Club, a Chicago-based online clothing service “for men who don’t enjoy shopping,” has raised $11 million in Series A funding. U.S. Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by Greycroft Partners, Apex Venture Partners and seed backer Anthos Capital. Read more…

Striiv, a Redwood City, Calif.-based developer of devices to “take active gaming outside the living room” for the purpose of improving physical fitness, has raised $6 million in Series A funding. iD Ventures led the round, and was joined by angel investors like Colin Angle (iRobot) and Dado Banatao (Tallwood Ventures). www.striiv.com

BountyJobs, a New York-based online marketplace that connects corporate recruiters with a network of headhunters, has raised $5 million in new VC funding. Return backers include Greylock Partners, Accel Partners and RPM Ventures. www.bountyjobs.com

Aura Biosciences, a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of nano-enabled drug delivery systems, has raised $4.5 million in new VC funding from undisclosed investors. www.aurabiosciences.com
Pharnext SAS, a Paris-based drug developer focused on severe neurological diseases, has raised €2.5 million in new VC funding at a €60 million pre-money valuation. Backers include Truffle Capital, La Financière Gaspard and Parinvest. www.pharnext.com

AgencyQ Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based developer of websites and online marketing strategies, has raised $1.6 million in VC funding from Advantage Capital Partners. www.agencyq.com

FullContact, a Denver-based API that automatically updates personal contact information, has raised $1.5 million in Series A funding, according to TechCrunch. Backers include 500 Startups, High Country Ventures, SK Ventures, Zelkova Ventures and BulletTime Ventures.

Echoecho, a Los Angeles-based provider of a location-based mobile app for finding friends, has raised $750,000 in seed funding from Google Ventures and ProFounders Capital. www.echoecho.com

Shoes4you, an online subscription-based footwear brand focused on the Brazilian market, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding. Redpoint Ventures led the round, and was joined by Accel Partners, Flybridge Capital Partners and Buscape.com CEO Romero Rodrigues. www.shoesforyou.com

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

TrueCar, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based publisher of real-time new and used vehicle transaction data, has raised over $200 million in private equity and debt financing (around an even split). Equity participants include GSV Asset Management, Allen & Co., Passport Capital, McCombs Family Partners, Keating Capital, DealerTrack, International Investment House, USAA, Capricorn Investment Group and GRP Partners. Silicon Valley Bank arranged the debt. In related news, TrueCar has acquired CarPerks, a provider of auto purchasing and leasing programs for businesses. TrueCar CEO Scott Painter told Reuters that his company plans to go public in the first half of 2012. www.truecar.com

BreatheAmerica, a Nashville, Tenn.-based owner and operator of diagnostic and treatment centers for chronic airway and immune system-related diseases, has raised $22 million in Series B funding led byEssex Woodlands. www.breatheamerica.com

Chill, a provider of digital hangouts for social video, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding. Backers include Atlas Venture, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Redpoint Ventures and Paul Kedrosky.www.chill.com

Pelagicore AB, a Swedish developer of open-source software applications for the automotive infotainment industry, has raised SEK 20 million (US$3.1m) in VC funding from state-run VC group Fouriertransform. www.pelagicore.com

Clean Power Finance, a Menlo Park, Calif.-based provider of services and financing solutions for the solar industry, has raised $25 million in new VC funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round via its Green Growth Fund, and was joined by Google Ventures and return backers Claremont Creek Ventures, Clean Pacific Ventures and Sand Hill Angels. www.cleanpowerfinance.com

Amakem NV, a Belgium-based developer of ophthalmology drugs, has raised €18 million in Series A funding. Forbion Capital Partners led the round, and was joined by Crédit Agricole Private Equity, Vesalius BioCapital and seed backers LRM, PMV and Life Sciences Research Partners.www.amakem.com

Daylight Solutions Inc., a San Diego-based, has raised $15 million in Series C funding led by Northrop Grumman Corp. www.daylightsolutions.com

AppFirst, a New York-based application problem resolution system, has raised $4 million in Series A funding. Javelin Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by seed backers FirstMark Capital and First Round Capital. www.appfirst.com

Morphlabs, a Los Angeles-based provider of cloud infrastructure solutions for the enterprise, has raised $5 million in Series C funding. BBT (Japan) led the round, and was joined by an undisclosed Indonesian investment group. www.morphlabs.com

IDENT Technology AG, a German maker of e-field sensors for consumer electronics, has raised an undisclosed amount of new VC funding from Robert Bosch Venture Capital and return backers MIG Funds and Danube Equity. www.ident-technology.com
