Lending Club, a Redwood City, Calif.-based P2P platform for personal loans, said that Thomvest has acquired an equity stake. The deal is part of a larger transaction in which Thomvest founder Peter J. Thompson will become a cornerstone investor in a new fund that will invest in the two highest grades of 36-month consumer loans originated through the Lending Club platform.
