Lumosity, a San Francisco-based developer of games that improve core cognitive abilities, has raised $32.5 million in Series C funding. Menlo Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers FirstMark Capital, Harrison Metal and Norwest Venture Partners. www.lumosity.com

 

Macheen Inc., an Austin, Texas-based cloud service provider for connected devices, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. North Bridge Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backer DFJ Mercury. www.macheen.com

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15

Wimdu, a German social marketplace for adventure travelers, has raised around $90 million in VC funding from Kinnevik and Rocket Internetwww.wimdu.com

Tintri Inc., a Mountain View, Calif.-based maker of VM-aware storage appliances, has raised $18 million in Series C funding. Return backers include New Enterprise Associates and Lightspeed Venture Partners. It previously raised $17 million www.tintri.com

Cotendo, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based developer of cloud-based acceleration technologies, has raised $17 million in new VC funding. Citrix Systems and Juniper Networks were joined by return backers Benchmark Capital, Sequoia Capital and Tenaya Capital. AisleBuyer LLC, a Boston-based provider of mobile self-checkout and mobile commerce solutions, has raised $7.5 million in equity funding from existing backer Old Willow Partnerswww.aislebuyer.com

ACAL Energy, a British fuel cell startup, has raised £6.1 million in VC funding. CT Investment Partnersled the round, and was joined by I2BF, North West Fund for Energy and Environmental, Parkwalk Advisors, Carbon Trust Investments, Solvay SA, Porton Capital and Sumitomo Corp.www.acalenergy.co.uk

Proterra Inc., a Goldon, Colo.-based maker of electiric city buses and automated bus charging stations, has raised $30 million in new VC funding. HTG Molecular Diagnostics, a Tucson, Ariz.-based developer of a multiplex gene expression testing platform, has raised $16.2 million in Series D funding. Novo AS led the round, and was joined by fellow return backers Fletcher Spaght Ventures, Merck Capital Ventures, Solstice Capital and Valley Ventures. Canvas, a photo and video-sharing startup from 4chan founder Christopher Poole, has raised $3 million in Series A funding. Backers include Union Square Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Founder Collective, SVAngel and Lerer Ventures. www.canv.as

Ocuspec, a San Francisco-based motion control company, has raised $1.3 million in seed funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, SOSventures International and individual angels like Bill Warner.www.ocuspec.com

Tendril, a Boulder, Colo.-based maker of wireless sensors and networks for improving energy efficiency, has raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding from Siemens Venture Capital. The company previously raised more than $30 million from VantagePoint Venture Partners, Good Energies, RRE Ventures, Vista Ventures, Access Venture Partners and Appian Ventures. In related news, Siemens Energy has agreed to market Tendril’s platform to utilities. www.tendril.com

Mc10 Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor electronics, is expecting to close on around $12 million in Series B funding this week, according to VentureWire. Revance Therapeutics Inc., a Newark, Calif.-based developer of a platform technology that enables local, targeted delivery of large macromolecules across skin, has raised $45 million in new VC funding. Essex Woodlands Health Ventures and NovaQuest Capital co-led the round, and were joined by CNF Investments and return backers Vivo Ventures, Technology Partners, Shepherd Ventures, Palo Alto Investors, Pac-Link Ventures and Essex Capital Corp. www.revance.com

Okbuy.com, a Chinese footwear retailer, has raised more than $50 million in Series C funding. Tencent Inc. led the round, and was joined by Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The company previously raised at least $27 million from DFJ, Sequoia Capital and Intel Capital. www.okbuy.com
