Fisker Automotive, an Irvine, Calif.-based electric vehicle maker, has raised $100 million in new VC funding, according to a regulatory filing. The company previously raised around $540 million, plus a $528 million low-cost loan from the Department of Energy. ThredUp, a San Francisco-based online kids clothing exchange, has raised $7 million in Series B funding. Redpoint Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backer Trinity Ventures. Varian Medical Systems Inc. (NYSE: VAR) has agreed to invest $15 million into Augmenix, a Waltham, Mass.-based developer of hydrogel products for radiation oncology. The deal also includes a milestone-based option whereby Varian could acquire the remaining shares of Augmentix, which has raised VC funding from Ascension Health Ventures, Catalyst Health Ventures, Pinnacle Ventures and the Sparta Group. www.augmenix.com

BranchOut, a San Francisco-based professional networking service on Facebook, has raised $18 million in Series B funding. Gilt Groupe, a New York-based “flash deal” retailer of luxury goods, has raised $138 million in new VC funding at a valuation of over $1 billion, according to Reuters. Softbank Group led the deal with a $62.5 million commitment, and also is backing a 50/50 joint venture for Gilt Group Japan. Goldman Sachs, New Enterprise Associates, Draper Fisher Jurvetson Growth, Pinnacle Ventures, TriplePoint Capital and Eastward Capital were joined by return backers General Atlantic and Matrix Partners. Gilt Groupe previously raised over $80 million.

Row Sham Bow Inc., an Orlando-based developer of games for social networks, has raised $3 million in VC funding from Intersouth Partners. www.rowshambow.com

NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA) has agreed to acquire Icera, a UK–based maker of baseband processors for 3G and 4G cellular phones and tablets, for $367 million in cash. Icera has raised over $205 million in VC funding from Accel Partners, Amadeus Capital Partners, Balderton Capital, 3i Group, Atlas Venture, DFJ Esprit and Tudor Investments. www.nvidia.com

LinkedIn, the social networking site for business professionals, set its IPO terms to 7.84 million shares being offered at between $32 and $35 per share. If it prices high, the company’s initial market cap could top $3 billion.
