Anthony Scaramucci—the hedge funder and Donald Trump economic advisor—sat down with Fortune editor Aaron Task to discuss a range of economic policy issues. In this clip, Scaramucci argues that Trump isn’t doing the best job convincing Republicans and independents who are ideologically disposed to supporting free trade of the merits of his skepticism towards U.S. policy in this area. Scaramucci says that we need to understand the historical context of that policy, and why American negotiators weren’t always concerned with driving the hardest bargain with our allies.
