Economies around the world are picking up, and that’s good for business. So says Michael Long, CEO of Arrow Electronics (”ARW”). And he certainly knows what he’s talking about.
His Colorado-based company is the world’s largest distributor of electronic components and does business in more than 100 countries. With revenues of $22 billion, Arrow is ranked 131 on the Fortune 500.
Long tells Fortune’s Susie Gharib that his customers are spending more. Arrow itself has big spending plans for this year and intends to do many acquisitions. Since Long became CEO seven years ago, he has led Arrow through a period of great change and immense growth, including 35 acquisitions.
“We plan on expanding,” he says. “You will see acquisitions in the digital space by us. You will see acquisitions in the media space by us. We will be doing acquisitions in Asia-Pac. We’ll be doing acquisitions in Europe.”
