He’s called Super Mario because he’s a super successful stock picker. Mario Gabelli is the founder and chairman of Gamco Investors (”BGL”), a money management firm based in New York.

Gabelli tells Fortune’s Susie Gharib that when he started his business in 1981, Berkshire Hathaway (”BRK.A”) was the first stock he bought for his investors. Today he has $40 billion under management and Berkshire is still one of his top investments.

For decades, Gabelli has been going to Omaha to attend Berkshire’s annual meeting. He is well-versed in Warren Buffett’s investment philosophy and Berkshire’s vast array of businesses.

Gabelli talks about his takeaways from what he saw and heard at Buffett’s weekend showcase.
