So if you have a beef with the IRS or post office—and who doesn’t?—here’s your chance to beef, at least in semi-public. (Yelp usernames do not display last names.) Not one to let an opportunity pass, Carly Fiorina, (aka Carly F. of Alexandria, Virg. on Yelp), the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard HPQ who is a Republican candidate for President, was among the first to take the challenge. Fiorina used Yelp to slam the Transportation Security Agency (TSA), according to this PJ Media report. Fiorina, or her campaign, also helpfully posted the review on her Facebook page (see the image below.) Fiorina panned the TSA as a waste of taxpayer money, and said other Yelpers sick of government inefficiency should contact her campaign. Yelp announced the new category Monday on its blog: We encourage Yelpers to review any of the thousands of agency field offices, TSA checkpoints,national parks, Social Security Administration offices, landmarks and other places already listed on Yelp if you have good or bad feedback to share about your experiences. Not only is it helpful to others who are looking for information on these services, but you can actually make an impact by sharing your feedback directly with the source. And now, here’s Fiorina’s review in full. Yelp is clearly trying to expand its array of offerings at a difficult time for the company. As Fortune has reported, the stock took a nosedive in late July on disappointing earnings and the departure of chairman Max Levchin. This came after reports that CEO Jeremy Stoppelman was looking to sell the business and had hired bankers from Goldman Sachs but has since changed his mind and, for now, called off a sale.
