100 Best Workplaces for Women

See our methodology and credits

Published together with our partner Great Place to Work, the 100 Best Workplaces for Women rankings are based entirely upon feedback from more than 137,762 women at Great Place to Work–Certified companies.

Women completed our anonymous Trust Index© survey, answering questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace, including, for example, their assessment of how fairly they're treated regardless of gender, the quality and authenticity of communications with managers, and equitable pay and promotion practices.

Results from the survey are highly reliable, having a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of 6% or less. Winning a spot on this list indicates the company has distinguished itself from peers by being a great place to work for women, and has a workplace where women have high representation in the total employee population and in management positions. The 100 companies with the highest employee ratings and female representation were selected for the list.

Employees say:

“[The] company believes in taking care of the people that work here and take time to recognize a job well done. The company believes in helping all patients that need it. It really is about doing what’s right. As an employee I feel like I am genuinely making a difference.”

“Genentech walks the walk. Every company I’ve worked for says they care about the wellfare of their employees and making sure they have a positive work/life balance. But those same organizations would have a VP who strolls the office at 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. each day to see who is in the office. I feel like managers are living the credo here at Genentech, and they set positive examples for people working under them.”
