American Energy Partners, a new gas and oil exploration company formed by ex- Chesapeake Energy CEO Aubrey McClendon, is in the process of securing $1.2 billion in capital commitments, according to the WSJ. AEP plans to focus on Ohio, and reportedly is nearing equity investment agreements from Energy & Minerals Group ($500m equity) and First Reserve Corp. ($200m), while he also plans to secure $400 million in debt.

Baring Private Equity Partners Asia is in advanced talks to acquire listed Indian IT services company Hexaware Technologies Ltd. for upwards of $400 million, according to The Times of India. Sellers include General Atlantic

Lloyds Banking Group (LSE: LLOY) has sold Heidelberger Leben, a German life insurance business, to Candover and Hannover Re for approximately €300 million.
