Engrade, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based district-level education platform, has raised $5 million in Series B funding. Javelin Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by Samsung Venture Investment Corp., Kapor Capital and Rethink Education. www.engrade.com

Quartzy, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of a free lab management platform, has raised $4 million in Series A funding. Khosla Ventures led the round, and was joined by a group of individual angels and return backer Lerer Ventures. www.quartzy.com

SigFig, a San Francisco-based online personal finance platform, has raised $15 million in Series B funding. Backers include Union Square Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, DCM and individual angels.www.sigfig.com

Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific, a Philippines-based industrial process outsourcing company, has raised $53 million in Series C equity funding. A. Soriano Corp. (PSE: ANS) led the round, and was joined by Pacific Synergies and Investment & Capital Corp. of the Philippines. www.agp.ph

Sequenta Inc., a South San Francisco-based developer of therapeutics for diseases mediated by immune cells through measurements of lymphocyte diversity, has raised $20 million in Series C funding. Foresite Capital Management led the round, and was joined by return backers MDV and Index Ventures. www.sequenta.com

Zyomyx Inc., a Fremont, Calif.-based developer of medical diagnostics platforms, has raised $12 million in Series 2 funding. Mylan Inc. (Nasdaq: MYL) led the round, which included conversion of certain existing funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. www.zyomyx.com

Pixate, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of a platform for mobile app development, has raised $3.8 million in Series A funding from Accel Partnerswww.pixate.com
