XO1 Ltd., a UK-based developer of an anticoagulant drug that has the potential to prevent heart attacks and strokes without causing bleeding, has raised $11 million in first-round funding from Index Ventures(which formed the company).

Mirabilis Medica Inc., a Bothell, Wash.-based developer of non-invasive ultrasound technology for treatment of uterine fibroids, has raised $7 million in Series A-1 funding led by GSR Ventures. Existing backer Charter Life Sciences also participated in the round, which could expand to a total of $13

GutCheck, a Denver-based provider of real-time online solutions to gain marketing insights, has raised $4 million in Series B funding. Grotech Ventures and Crawley Ventures were joined by return backers Highway 12 Ventures and Village Ventures.

Disconnect, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of online privacy and security software, has raised $3.5 million in Series A funding led by FirstMark

Minimally Invasive Devices Inc., a Columbus, Ohio–based developer of a device that prevents loss of vision during laparoscopic surgery due to obscuration of the optics, has raised $2.5 million in new Series B funding from Radius Ventures. The company previously held a $9 million first close from Canaan Partners and Charter Life Sciences.

SiteWit Corp., a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based provider of search engine marketing software, has raised over $1.5 million in VC funding from firms like Stage 1
