SimpliVity Corp., a Westborough, Mass.-based provider of software-defined data centers in a box, has raised $25 million in Series B funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, and was joined by return backers Accel Partners and Charles River Ventures. The company previously raised $18 million.

Exelate, a New York-based provider of data and analytics for digital advertisers, has raised $12 million in Series C funding. NewSpring Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Carmel Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Trident Capital.

, a Marina Del Rey, Calif.-based developer of miniature, portable X-ray sources, has raised $6.2 million in Series A funding led by Founders Fund. The company previously raised $2.5 million in seed funding from Flywheel Ventures and individual angels.

PCN, a San Diego-based provider of Ethernet/IP networking products for existing functional twisted pair and discrete wiring, has raised $5.25 million in new VC funding from backers like Enertech

GroundMetrics Inc., a San Diego–based provider of sensing technologies and noise mitigation methods for geophysical survey applications, has raised $1.2 million in Series A funding through Tech Coast
, a German online tutoring platform, has raised an undisclosed amount of new VC funding. Acton Capital Partners led the round, and was joined by J.C.M.B. Beteiligungs GmbH and VC Fonds Kreativwirtschaft Berlin.
