BASF has agreed to acquire Becker Underwood, an Ames, Iowa-based provider of seed-applied biological products, from Norwest Equity Partners. The deal is valued at $1.02 billion. NEP first iacquired Becker Underwood back in 2004.

Colby Pharmaceutical Co. of San Jose, Calif. has acquired Othera Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Conshohocken, Penn.-based developer of drugs for oncology, ophthalmology, and inflammatory diseases. No financial terms were disclosed. Othera had raised over $40 million in VC funding from Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Commerce Health Ventures, Fletcher Spaght, Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Liberty Venture Partners, NewSpring Capital, NJTC Venture Fund and Wynnefield Capital Advisors.

Boston Scientific Corp. (NYSE: BSX) has agreed to acquire BridgePoint Medical Inc., a Minneapolis-based developer of devices for crossing coronary and peripheral chronic total occlusions. No financial terms were disclosed. BridgePoint had raised over $26 million in VC fuinding from firms like New Enterprise Associates, Covidien PLC, Polaris Venture Partners and Foundation Medical Partners.
