State Grid (China) is among the first-round bidders for SGB Starkstrom, a German maker of power transformers that is being sold by BC Partners, according to Reuters. Goldman Sachs is managing the process, which is expected to garner up to €1 billion.

Unison Capital has hired Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley to manage the sale of Japanese sushi restaurant chain Akindo Sushiro, according to Reuters. The deal could be valued at upwards of $890 million.

Southport Lane has agreed to acquire Dallas National Insurance Co., a property and casualty insurer in Texas, for an undisclosed amount. www.southportlane.com
