Cornerstone Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: CRTX) has agreed to acquire EKR Therapeutics Inc., a Bedminster, N.J.-based drugmaker focused on the acute-care hospital setting. The deal includes a $125 million up-front cash payment. EKR has raised over $52 million in VC funding from MPM Capital, LLR Partners, Quaker BioVentures, NewSpring Capital and ESP Equity Partners. www.ekrtx.com

CGEI Wind, a joint venture of Good Energies and Champlin Windpower LLC, has agreed to sell the rights and title to a 4,000 MW wind energy development pipeline, with near term projects in Hawaii and Utah, to Western Wind Energy Corp. (TSX: WND). Facebook has agreed to acquire the team behind Android app maker Lightbox, for an undisclosed amount. Lightbox had raised $1.2 million in seed funding from Accel Partners, Index Ventures, SV Angel, 500 Startups and several other angel investors. www.facebook.com

General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) has agreed to acquire two mining equipment companies: Australia-based Industrea Ltd. (ASX: IDL) for US$700 million, and Virginia-based Fairchild International for an undisclosed amount. www.ge.com

Healthscope, an Australian hospital operator owned by The Carlyle Group and TPG Capital, has agreed to sell certain pathology assets to Sonic Healthcare Ltd. (ASX: SHL). The deal is valued at $100 million, while the included assets reported 2011 revenue of around A$105 million. www.healthscope.com.au

Providence Equity has sold Decision Resources, a Burlington, Mass.-based healthcare research and advisory company, to India’s Piramal Healthcare for $635 million. www.decisionresourcesinc.com
