Marubeni Corp. has agreed to acquire a 22% stake in Singapore-based reinsurer ACR Capital Holdings, for approximately $250 million. Existing ACR shareholders include 3i Group, Temasek Holdings and Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional.

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has agreed to buy nearly a 50% stake in Grupo Costanera, the Chilean unit of Italian toll-road operator Atlantia, for approximately €857 million. www.cppib.ca

Facebook offered to acquire AOL’s patent portfolio, according to Bloomberg. The social network got beaten out by Microsoft’s $1.06 billion bid.

The Qatar Investment Authority has acquired a 5.2% stake in jewelry retailer Tiffany & Co., according to The Financial Times.
