The Carlyle Group and Sequoia Capital are in separate talks to invest between $40 million and $50 million for a minority stake in JSM Corp., operator of the Indian franchises of Hard Rock Cafe and California Pizza Kitchen, according to Reuters. Other suitors include Premji Invest and New Silk Route.

Comvest Investment Partners has acquired the U.S. fire and security branch operations of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX). No financial terms were disclosed, except that the business reports approximately $250 million in annual sales.
