GIMV and Monaghan Mushrooms have acquired Walkro, a Belgium-based maker of mushroom substrate that reports annual revenue of around EUR 65 million. No financial terms were disclosed.

Permira has agreed to acquire the Genesys corporate call center services business of Alcatel-Lucent for up to $1.5 billion, according to The Financial Times.

Candescent Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, has acquired SoftBase, an Ashville, N.C.-based provider of DB2 z/OS coding, testing and deployment tools for accelerating application development. No financial terms were disclosed. Co-investors included Harbert Mezzanine Capital, Bush O’Donnell Capital Partners, and Brooke Private Equity Associates.

Cooper Standard, a Novi, Mich.-based auto parts maker controlled by Silver Point Capital and Oak Hill Advisors, has hired JPMorgan Chase and Lazard to explore a possible sale of the company. The deal could be valued at around $1.5 billion, with Reuters reporting that The Carlyle Group, Cerberus Capital Management and Platinum Equity are among possible suitors.

J.C. Flowers & Co. may be part of an investor consortium to acquire reinsurer Transatlantic Holdings (NYSE: TRH), according to Bloomberg. Transatlantic is seeking a new buyer after a deal with Allied World Assurance collapse. Flowers may be working with a group that also includes C.V. Starr & Co. and Enstar Group.

Grass Valley, a San Francisco-based video technology company owned by Francisco Partners, has acquired PubliTronic, a Dutch provider of automated video playout solutions. No financial terms were disclosed.

Proserv Group AS, a Scottish oilfield products and services company owned by Intervale Capital, has merged with Houston-based rival Galathea Group Inc. No financial terms were disclosed.

Stony Point Group and Cotton Creek Capital have acquired the assets of Broadwing Air Repair LLC, a Melbourne, Ark.-based provider of aerospacecomposite and sheet metal repair services.

Warburg Pincus has completed its acquisition of Consolidated Precision Products Corp. from Arlington Capital Partners. No pricing terms were disclosed, although earlier press reports suggested that it could be worth upwards of $1 billion. GE Capital and Ares Capital provided debt financing.. CPP is a Pomona, Calif.-based maker of highly-engineered castings for the commercial aerospace, military and industrial markets.


Citi Venture Capital International has completed its $307 million take-private acquisition of Ness Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: NSTC), a Teaneck, N.J.-based provider of IT and business services.

Insight Equity has acquired a controlling interest in Versatile Processing Group Inc., an Indianapolis-based industrial processor of non-ferrous and other metals for the manufacturing, electric utility and metal recycling industries. No financial terms were disclosed.

The Riverside Company has acquired BioSan Laboratories Inc., a Derry, N.H.-based maker of all-natural whole food nutritional supplements. No financial terms were disclosed.

Ares Management
and the Canadian Pension Plan Invest Board have agreed to acquire 99 Cent Only Stores (NYSE: NDN) for $1.6 billion, or $22 per share. The deal represents a 7.3% premium to yesterday’s closing price, and tops an earlier offer from Leonard Green & Partners. Apollo Management also had reported interest in the discount retailer.

Thomas H. Lee Partners and a Blackstone/Carlyle consortium are the finalists to acquire Morgan Keegan, the brokerage and investment banking unit of Regions Finance Corp. (NYSE: RF), according to Reuters. The deal could be worth around $1.5 billion.

CapMan has acquired a 29% stake in Lumex Instruments, a Russian maker of laboratory analytical equipment. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which CapMan transacted via its Russia

Confie Seguros
, a New York-based provider of auto insurance with an emphasis on serving Hispanic consumers, has acquired the Florida operations of insurance brokerage Trustway Insurance Agencies. No financial terms were disclosed. Confie Seguros is a portfolio company of Genstar

First Reserve Corp.
 and Energy Corp. of America have formed a 50/50 joint venture that will house two newly-constructed gathering systems located in Pennsylvania’s Greene and Clearfield counties. First Reserve is committing $100 million to the effort.
, a Denver-based portfolio company on Pamlico Capital, has acquired NeoSpire, a Dallas-based managed hosting company. No financial terms were disclosed.

Summit Midstream Partners
, a midstream energy company formed in 2009 by Energy Capital Partners, has agreed to acquire natural gas midstream assets located in the Piceance Basin from a subsidiary ofEncana Corp. (NYSE: ECA). The deal is valued at $590 million, and includes approximately 260 miles of pipeline.

TA Associates
 has made a “significant investment” in Aicent Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of data network, messaging and roaming solutions to telecom network operators. No financial terms were disclosed.

, a state-owned power company in Sweden, is looking to sell its Finnish electricity and heat distribution assets for more than EUR 1 billion, according to Reuters. Deutsche Bank and Danske Bank are managing the process, which is expected to garner interest from infrastructure investors like EQT Partners, Macquarie and a consortium that includes 3i Group and Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners.

Vitruvian Partners
 has acquired a majority stake in The College Group Ltd., a London-based business communications consultancy. The deal valued College Group at just over $70


Guggenheim Partners has agreed to acquire EquiTrust Life Insurance Co., a provider of fixed and indexed annuities and life insurance, from FBL Financial Group Inc. (NYSE: FFG). The “preliminary purchase price”
is $440 million in cash.

Netsmart, a portfolio company of Genstar Capital, has acquired Sequest Technologies Inc., a Lisle, Ill.-based provider of electronic record solutions for medical clinics and practices. No financial terms were disclosed.

Oak Hill Capital Partners has invested an additional $55 million into Southern Air Holdings, a Norwalk, Conn.-based cargo carrier that provisions block space and aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance services. Oak Hill has owned Southern Air since 2007.

Paine & Partners has completed its previously-announced acquisition of a 50% stake in Costa Group, a grower and marketer of fresh produce in Australia. Costa reports more than A$600 million in annual revenue and over 4,000

Sapphire Power Holdings, a portfolio company of The Riverstone/Carlyle Global Energy & Power Funds, has acquired a 778 MW portfolio of gas-fired power generation facilities in the Northeastern U.S. from the Morris Energy Group. No financial terms were disclosed.

Southeast Cold Holdings, a portfolio company of Bay Grove Capital, has acquired Richmond Cold Storage, a Richmond, Va.-based provider of refrigerated warehousing services, from Atlanta Equity Investors. No financial terms were disclosed.
