Google’s China site is reporting that the only major service running in China is Gmail.
Update: Google confirms that the Chinese government hasn’t blocked Google, it is just an error in its reporting mechanism.
Along with their search engine Google’s ads, News and mobile sites were listed as being down. The only service that Google monitors that is still functioning in the Mainland is Gmail. That’s the first time this has happened since Google started stopped self-censoring itself im March.
Even Google’s Web Search Suggests is now down and Google Images is at least partially being disfunctional.
The AP reports:
Reuters reports that shares of Google were down 1.4 percent in after-hours trading to $478.00, while shares of Baidu Inc, the biggest search provider in China, rose 3.5 percent to $82.00.
