The rising tide lifted all the ships. In terms of unit sales:

  • Apple (AAPL) grew 131.6% year over year to 8.8 million iPhones
  • Motorola (MOT) 91.7% to 2.3 million units
  • HTC 73.3% to 2.6 million units
  • Nokia (NOK) 56.9% to 21.5 million units
  • Research in Motion (RIMM) 45.2% to 10.6 million units

Note: IDC’s numbers, released last week, are for branded vendor shipments only. OEM sales are excluded, which tends to reduce HTC’s — and thus Google’s (GOOG) — numbers. See here.
